The winter sports season will be over in less than four weeks, and I am looking forward to what comes next. I have to admit that I am getting a bit tired of seeing Big White as one endless white landscape. I am also really longing for warmer temperatures. I am tired of freezing in our little apartment while paying so much for heating. When the weather gets warmer, the heating bills will go down too.
But the most exciting part about the end of the season is our long trip to Vietnam π. We went to Thailand in 2023 and I really loved the experience. I enjoy traveling in that part of the world. It felt very homey to me. I felt safe and comfortable there. I never felt that I had to constantly worry about someone stealing my belongings or be overly vigilant to stay safe. I have been wanting to return to that region for the last three years, and now it is finally happening this April.
During the coming weeks, I need to start preparing for the trip. That means drying or using all my herbs and stopping the Aerogarden until next November. I also need to cook meals using the food we already have, because we will turn off the freezer while we are away. I need to make sure I have everything ready for the trip. I plan to pack very lightly, but I still need the basics so I can take photos during the trip and have a few things I use every day.
I also need to fill out my tax documents and declare all my expenses for 2025 before we leave, since I worked as a contractor for part of the year. That is the task I am least looking forward to, but it has to be done π.
Now I am getting dressed to go for a walk in the forest, even though it has been snowing heavily since this morning. I promised myself that I would walk every day, and I want to keep that promise. I will also try to take a few photos in the forest today.
Have a great evening π

Me walking alone in the forest while it snowed nonstop.
It was windy and the snow kept blowing into my eyes.
It has been snowing snowing heavily since the morning.
There was so much snow that my feet disappeared into it as I was walking.
