This morning, I woke up with excitement in my stomach. I have been longing for this feeling for a long time: to wake up excited about the day instead of feeling bored or stressed. I think this is the right way to live life: looking forward to the day ahead.

The reason is I got a job in my village, Big White πŸ™‚ I will be starting as a ticket sales agent and also event organizer. I'll be starting as a ticket sales agent and event organizer. My job will be a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, which I love. I'll get to move around instead of sitting at a desk all day. I'll meet people, help visitors, and organize events. Honestly, this is everything I've wanted in a job.

This is the first time in my life that I'm genuinely excited about going to work!

Of course, I'll be earning much less than I did as a data analyst. But in return, I get to live a normal life instead of being under constant stress. When I was working my previous jobs, I remember times when I wasn't even hungry because of the stress. My hands and feet would become so cold that I would shiver. Looking back, I don't think any salary was worth living that way.

I could have continued that lifestyle and earned more money to spend it on things that wouldn't really matter. But that way, I would have been trading away my youth, my energy, and my peace of mind. Which one is more important: money or a healthy life?

Who can guarantee that I can even make it to retirement? I know someone who worked until the age of 67, and the moment she was finally ready to retire, she was diagnosed with cancer. She is still physically here, but mentally, I don't even know where she is anymore. It's as if she no longer lives in the same world as the rest of us. She used to be so energetic and happy, always bringing light to the people around her. But that sweet, lovely lady is now gone.

It's a sad story, but the truth behind it is worth pondering.

I'll be starting next week. I'll be working weekends and have a few days off during the week, so this is my last free weekend for fruit picking until early September.

So this weekend, we're going to visit some beautiful fruit-picking spots and pick some tasty colorful early-summer fruit. πŸ™‚
