As you might know by now, I do not have the luxury of having a washer and dryer in my tiny apartment. So each time I want to do the laundry, I have to go to a building about 100 meters away and use the washer and dryer machines accessible to the tenants. It is especially hard when it is cold outside and I have to climb up that street carrying lots of clothes and the liquid laundry detergent, and on top of that I have to be super careful not to lose the keys and the washing card I use to pay for the laundry.

Today I wanted to do the laundry. I had two huge bags of clothes that had accumulated over about two weeks. Since we have had a friend staying with us lately, I also had to wash all the guest bed sheets and towels. So I bundled up, prepared everything, walked to the door and looked for the washing card to pay for the machines. But I could not find it anywhere! There was no way it wasn’t in its place. I am always so, so careful to put the card back where it belongs. We spent about half an hour looking for it in every corner of our tiny apartment. It was nowhere. I was so disappointed πŸ˜‘, especially since I had just charged the card and it’s pretty expensive πŸ™„.

So I walked to the card machine to buy another one and charge it again, only to realize the machine was empty 😨! That was the cherry on top πŸ˜…

The only thing I could think to do was to ask Donald if he would be okay with me using the washing machine at his Airbnb, and of course he agreed and also invited us for dinner πŸ˜‡.

So not only did I enjoy a delicious lasagna and clementine with ice cream for dessert, but I also washed and dried the clothes πŸ˜„. Cheers to good friends who make life easier for each other.
