Today, I made dinner and brought it to our friends, Eric and Marie, so we could eat together. They are our neighbors, and although they’ve been living here for about two years, we are new to the village and are getting to know people little by little. Our apartment is too small for four people to sit comfortably around the kitchen table. And it’s not a good idea to eat in the dining room since the floor is covered with carpet to keep us warm during the cold winter days. So I brought dinner to their place 😊

I also prepared one of my favorite tea blends: saffron, rose buds, and cardamom. The mix of the three creates such a beautiful aroma. Marie really liked the tea and was excited about the plants I used for the blend. She showed me a book she bought to learn about local plants in BC. She also told me that last summer she went foraging in the forest not far from our place. She knows someone who has been a foraging guide in the area for years. We decided that this summer we would go foraging together with the guide. I am so excited about this plan 😄

I also shared my dream of opening a tea shop, and she immediately got excited and said she would be in. We imagined starting by making tea for ourselves, then opening an online shop, and eventually a tea shop one day. Let’s dream. It might come true 😌

Dream of Tea

A homemade dinner with new neighbors turns into a conversation about tea, local plants, foraging and the dream of opening a tea shop one day.
